I should make baby clothes!
Whoever makes these clothes, obviously don't try them on babies! LOL Look at this 000 set on jaida - now if Jaida was the same length, but another 3kgs heavier, but waist the same size - this might fit better LOL. They seem to make the tops and legs really wide!

I think I am starting to get some more 'half smiles' from the little miss! Looking forward to more!
The booties she is wearing, I bought the day of the 20 week ultrasound, when the sonographer thought we might be having a girl! :)

Update on Jaida @ 6w 3d
Finally saw the CHN last Thursday after she was off sick for 2 weeks. So here is an update:
Weight - 4480g (1180g gain in 4 weeks! 940g up from birth)
Length - 60.5cm (grown 9.5cm since birth!)
Head circ - 37.5cm (grown 3.5cm since birth)
At 6w 5d Charlotte was 5130g and at 10w 5d she was 60cm!
I looked up one of those percentile charts, and with length - she started on the 50th percentile, and has jumped up to the 97th percentile - in 6 weeks! So looks like Jaida is going to be very tall!
I am still making up 120ml bottles - has around 80-120ml at each feed, after both breasts - which I am sure she is getting almost nothing from. She generally has 7 - 8 bottles a day.
Usually wakes once a night. Last night she woke at 3am, then started crying at 6am so I got up and started to get her bottle, but she went quiet. So I thought I would leave her and see what happens - went back to bed, next thing I know it's 8am! Was nice to have a bit of a sleep in! Even though I am very lucky with only one wake up most of the time - I am still looking forward to sleeping through LOL.

It's so hard!
I take so many photos - it's so hard to choose which ones to blog - so here are more than you need to see - but too bad :P hahaha.
They change so fast! The first photo was taken the day she was born, the second taken today - imagine how different she will look in another 6 weeks!

I LOVE this jumpsuit! It fits her perfectly (today LOL). A lot of jumpsuits that fit her length-wise, are too wide - but this is just right - and it's cute!

We make them strong! Both Charlotte and Jaida have been very strong and have had good head control from a young age, well birth haha. Jaida loves being upright, looking around.

6 Weeks old already!
'Sitting up' on Mummy's Chair:

Out in the laundry relaxing while mummy puts some washing on:

Superbaby:

Look at those skinny legs! hehe

I had hoped this time around that I got a baby that was happy to lay back and take it easy - nope - I got another one who wants to be up and checking everything out *sigh* just like her big sister.

Too cute
Jaida has had a few unsettled days - just wants to snack and have cuddles all the time, but today she has actually been sleeping in her bassinet quite happily - so that is great. And she went from some time between 11:00 and 12:00pm to 5am - so that was only one wake up for me again, as I am usually up late anyway.

Just for future reference, I thought I would put here how much formula I have been offering Jaida - at first she would only take 20ml, then around 40ml, then she seemed unsatisfied with 60ml so now I make up a 180ml bottle and split that into 2 bottles - so with formula added it's around 100ml per bottle, and she has only finished the lot once or twice. So still not drinking alot, but seems satisfied.
Will see the CHN tomorrow for a weigh and measure - it will be interesting to see how long she is now, as the 000 clothes swim on her width wise, but length is getting a bit tight.

Smiles?
Yesterday at our Dr App. I had Jaida laying with her back against my chest and the doctor was talking to her - he said 'is that a smile? is that a little baby smile?' - I couldn't see her, but I thought - don't you dare give your first smile to a stranger LOL. Then yesterday arvo she was checking me out and I thought I saw a bit of a smile - but how can you be sure? I guess if she does it a few times? Charlotte was a late smiler, so I can wait LOL.
You know how I was saying Jaida wakes every morning at 4am? Well last night she woke at 2am and 6am *sigh* But she then slept until 9am - Charlotte woke at 8am.

A rare case!
Hormone levels are ok - especially the one that controls milk supply, it is really good - I have been doing everything right, have tried just about everything to boost milk supply. And yet I still don't have enough milk.
My doctor is puzzled and even looked up Dr Google while I was there LOL. The only thing he can think of, is that I don't have enough receptors in my breasts - or something - they just ain't gettin the message! Nothing I can do about it.
I am sad, but also relieved that I have, sort of, got a reason for the low supply. I had hoped to go in there - Doc say 'yes, this hormone is low, take these tablets and you will have overflowing boobs by the end of the day'... well we can dream can't we?!?
4 week check - Jaida is 'perfect'. On the doctor's scales, Jaida was 4kgs fully clothed. I thought she would have been alot heavier than that - when I put her on the CHN's scales on Thursday she was just under 4kgs. With her huge gain last week, and being told to reduce top ups, I was worried she was gaining too much, but it looks like she is doing ok. I might go to the lactation consultant tomorrow and use their scales - and let them know the results of the blood tests - the have called me twice in the last few days, checking up on us!
Here is my teeny tiny girl in the car on Friday:

Bright eyed and bushy tailed - cuddles with Daddy:

I should add that I am typing this on my brand new laptop! My old laptop had been playing up for quite some time, and I desperately needed to upgrade - it died on Friday morning... it was a sad day. Then my darling husband said on Saturday that I could get a new one. I am one spoilt woman I tell ya! He also bought be a Nintendo Wii! And ordered a Wii Fit! Can't wait to get it! We also got Charlotte a portable DVD player for when we drive back home - 8 hours in the car is a long time for a little girl, so that should make it a little easier for her.
I really should get to bed - my little bubba will be waking in about 3 hours and 15 minutes LOL Their body clocks are amazing.

1 month old!
She's growing up way too fast!
I went to the Chemist to see the CHN and get her weighed, but unfortunately she wasn't there - so I just put her on the scales myself - she was just under 4kg fully clothed, so take between 100-200g off I guess. Will get her weighed again next week on the digital scales I think.
This afternoon I had to wake her up to go out, so thought I would attack her with the camera flash - she looked so cute. BUT that didn't wake her, so I had to get her out and change her nappy - she was NOT happy!

And just some pics - sitting in the bouncer today:

I often wonder what Jaida is going to look like later on - is she going to look like her sister, or be totally different? Here is a pic of Charlotte at 1 month - quite different! For a start - Jaida has hair! LOL

Wanna hear something funny!?
From my first contraction at 11pm on Saturday 10th May, it was 28 hours until Jaida arrived. Contractions started getting worse at 8pm on Sunday, 7 hours before Jaida arrived.
On the form the Hospital fill out and give you, they have the following info:
Length of labour:
1st Stage - 2hr 57mins
2nd Stage - 1 minute
LOL so the pushing stage was only 1 minute! I think with Charlotte it was 6 minutes - so this time I kept saying to the midwife 'I feel like pushing, I feel like pushing!' - I was so scared that she would walk out and Ray would have to catch Jaida LOL.

Having a morning snooze on Mummy:

Starting to put more 000 things on her - this suit is so cute!

Laying on Daddy - checking out her sister:

And in the very very cute jumpsuit that arrived in the mail yesterday - Thanks 'Aunt Kim'!!! It's gorgeous!

Weight gain update! I went and got her weighed at the Clinic yesterday, and she is now 3.7kgs! That was a huge gain - I think 470g! The nurse said I should try and cut out the morning formula top-ups, because she has gained so much weight, and that she might be getting more milk from me than I think.... errrr NO! I just tried to express and got NOTHING! Well, that's a lie - I got about 3 drops! I am happy to keep offering her the breast before bottle though - it's a nice time for us both. I still haven't been back to the doctor for the results yet - it's hard to make an appointment time as Ray has other things on, and I have to work around that.
We might be getting into a bit of a routine! The last 3 nights Jaida has been a little unsettled (by that I mean she just wants cuddles) around 10pm, then she is in her bassinet by around 11pm, then wakes at 4 or 5am, then again between 7-9am! So that is only one wake up for me!
I think I can safely say I have a 'good baby' - with both girls I often got asked 'is she a good baby' - well what is that? A baby is a baby!?! But with Jaida - she is very easy to handle - she is never inconsolable - if she cries after a feed, she just wants a dummy or cuddle.
Me - tailbone is still very sore, but otherwise, I am good!
