Getting quite a few smiles lately. She is so cute, we sit together talking and she just watches me with a happy look on her face and makes the odd little baby noise.

Jaida is much better with her day sleeps than Charlotte was, but I'm sure Charlotte was sleeping through at this age, whereas Jaida still wakes once between 4-6.30am.

Whenever Jaida 'loses' a bit of milk, Charlotte takes off and looks for something to wipe her mouth - she will find a towel/cloth nappy somewhere and come running with it.

Well, I was right - Jaida woke around 5am, had a bottle, I put her back in the bassinet, went to bed. Few minutes later she was crying - go in and she is wide awake! I was too tired to get up at that time of the day, so kept sticking the dummy back in - then Ray did a couple of times. Next thing I know, it's 7:30am and she is crying - so she DID go back to sleep! Phew!

She has been a dream baby again today - a little cranky when we were out, but that's my fault, shopping when she wants a sleep! She happily sat in her bouncer for over an hour tonight, just watching me do some folding, watching her sister play around, then watching me cook dinner etc. Then she had a bath, then sat in the bouncer again while I ate dinner - she had a bit of a snooze, then after I showered Charlotte and myself, she had a bottle then went to bed around 8:30pm. Again, I am just hoping I didn't put her to bed too early! I am NOT a morning person! My body doesn't work properly before 7am LOL

Well, Jaida is gaining weight like there is no tomorrow! Gained about 1.2kgs in 3 weeks! Looks like she does take after her Mummy after all LOL.

She has been so good lately. No real unsettled periods. I am learning more each day though - I know now that if she has been sleeping in her bassinet, wakes up and cries - if she looks sleepy, she will take the dummy and go back to sleep - if she looks wide awake, no matter how many times you stick that dummy in, she won't go back to sleep. So I just get her up. Sounds simple, but there were times where I thought 'she's due for a sleep, she needs more sleep' etc and would try and try to get her back to sleep. Now I'm more relaxed about it, if she wants to be up, I get her up - she 'plays' for a while, has cuddles, might have some more milk, then she happily goes back to bed.

I don't know what tonight is going to be like - I think I put her in her bassinet around 6:30pm, she had a few little whinges around 7:30pm, woke at 11:30pm and I changed her, gave her a bottle, she went back to sleep! So now I am worried she will wake at 4am and think it's time to get up for a play and cuddles! Eeeeek. I had better get to bed actually!

Jaida had her 2 month immunisations today, and she went really well! She took it much better than Charlotte did! She had an oral dose for rotavirus, and a needle in each thigh - a short cry after each, and some cuddles - she was right.

When we first went in and sat down, I was talking to the nurse, as she remembered me from when I was there for Charlotte's needles. We were chatting away, and she said 'awww she is smiling at you' - I looked down and Jaida was just gazing up at me smiling away - awwwwwwwwww! So she just looked at me with a happy look on her face - until she jabbed her! LOL.

She has been good this afternoon - possibly a little more upset than normal when 'asking' for her bottle. Her forehead felt a bit warm tonight too, so I just gave her some panadol before bed. I have to be extra careful with hygeine for the next 7-10 days because of the rotavirus - especially after changing nappies, as I think the virus can be passed through the errr No.2s!

I wanted to get her weighed and measured today too, but got there too late to fit both things in - so will go and see the CHN at the chemist on Thursday. I am curious to see if she has grown much in length - after her last measure, I am thinking she will be taller than Mummy by the time she is 10 LOL.

I took some photos today of the girls in the pram in toddler/toddler mode, and some of Jaida sitting on Charlotte in the pram after her needles - but the photos weren't on the memory stick - it happened again *cry*. I think the problem may be with the memory stick - I formatted it tonight, so hoping that fixes it!

Hard to dress!

Both my babies have been hard to dress! Charlotte is a big girl, so getting clothes to fit right is not easy. Jaida is a small girl, and getting clothes to fit is hard LOL. I need Charlotte to slow down with her growth, and Jaida to hurry up and gain some weight!

I have tried a few pairs of pants on Jaida, like the ones in the photo below, and they are wayyyy to big around her waist. The only pants that fit well are bonds!

I tried Charlotte and Jaida in the toddler/toddler mode in the Phil & Teds today. Jaida is really getting too long to be easily put in the newborn/toddler mode, and loves being upright checking everything out, so thought we would give it a go with them both sitting up. Well, Jaida seemed to love it! She was looking around the shops, and she could look up at me aswell, then fell asleep after a while! Will have to take my camera with me tomorrow and take a photo of them.

Bumbo!

No, I'm not being rude LOL For those who don't know, a bumbo is a seat designed for babies who have good head control, but can't support themselves sitting up. I had never seen one in person, always wanted one, but thought there was no way Charlotte's big legs would fit in there LOL But I didn't realise it is all soft! Anyway, got one for Jaida the other day, thinking I would use it in a month or so. Got it out and thought I would try it today - Jaida seems to love it!

Jaida was good again today. She woke at 2:30am and 6:30am - didn't really like the cold 2am wake up, but I guess I can live with that LOL

Had a bad day with Jaida yesterday, but I think she just had some tummy pains - she just wasn't happy with anything. But today she was very easy going. Seems to be a pattern - bad day, good day, bad day, good day LOL.

The last couple of mornings she has woken around 6:30am, after going to bed around 10:30pm. And after the morning feed, she goes back to bed - so one very lucky Mummy here!

Sound asleep...

Until I sat down to eat dinner! She wouldn't settle in her room, so I wheeled the bassinet out to the lounge room, just off the kitchen - under the air con. Thought it would be easier to stick the dummy in there, than walk into her room all the time LOL She went to sleep pretty quickly. She has had some unsettled days lately, but she is still pretty good.



Better go - I think she is after another bottle!

8 Weeks old already!

I was trying to get Jaida to sleep today. I put her in her bassinet, on her side and tucked the blankets in tight. This is how I found her - when she gets cranky, she starts 'fighting' and thrashes her arms and legs around, so she managed to kick the blankets off, roll onto her back and move up the bassinet a bit!

Yes, I say it all the time, and I can hear you all saying 'we knowwwwwwwww' - but I have to say it again! Jaida is so strong! Today she was standing on me - and I was just holding her hands!!! I wasn't holding her up - she was supporting her own weight! It's scarey to think about what she will be like in a few months time - will she be walking? hahahahaha.

I really have to cut her nails - when she was sleeping in the sling the other day, she took a big chunk of skin out of her face! You can see it in these pics - poor bubba.
