My 2 dolls!

I always wanted to do this with Charlotte, but never got around to it. Here is a photo of Jaida with my tiny doll that I had growing up! We are still amazed at how tiny a newborn is LOL.

Unfortunately, I do have some trouble with supply. Jaida is still under her birth weight - she weighed in at 3.3kgs this morning - only 100g gain in 9 days - not good, but not totally bad either. Going to a lactation consultant in the morning to check attachment etc. I am also changing the way we feed, and pumping after feeds to try and get my supply up. Will see how we go.

About time for more photos!

Well, if I was still pregnant, I would be induced today! Hmmm don't think I would still want to be pregnant LOL.

Jaida has been pretty good - loves booby and would be on there all day if I let her! She doesn't sleep alot during the day, is pretty unsettled - but I get pretty good blocks of sleep during the night.

Some of you might remember I had supply problems with Charlotte? I combined breast and bottle (formula) up until 8 weeks when she just flat out refused the breast - so was on formula until 12 months. Well, this time, we are breastfeeding! She seems to be getting enough from me. She attaches so well - even attaches herself at times - Charlotte was never good at attaching. So very happy Mummy and bubby! Although there are times where I would love to hand Jaida over to Ray with a bottle so I can get things done LOL. I can't seem to express well, so will have to work on that! Will update with weights another time.

Ok - the important stuff - photos!

Hard to believe...

Jaida was only due yesterday! Up until a week before she was born, I thought I would go overdue for sure!

Taken yesterday in her 2 piece outfit - cute, but the footless pants are not a good idea - can't keep socks on those tiny feet:

Hospital appointment

The Ob/Midwife (never know what/who these people are that I see LOL - different person every time) today was the nicest I have seen so far this pregnancy! Last appointment was awful and I wasn't even asked how I was feeling or whether I had any concerns/questions. This Ob/Mid went through all of my history, asked many questions, checked up on all tests and ultrasounds, asked how I was going, whether I had any questions, explained everything as she went along and told me what appointments are coming up. I couldn't believe how good she was - it was as if she actually cared *gasps* LOL.

36 week bloods - apparently these were good.
Blood pressure - at first she used the automatic one - 144/86 or something! We both said at the same time 'that's a bit high'. So I suggested maybe the cuff was too small or something, so she used the manual one and it was 120/80 - phew!
Swelling - she pressed on my ankles and said I have a little bit of fluid there, but nothing serious. I know my rings are a little tighter now!
Fundal height - measured roughly LOL - 40 weeks.
Bub's heartbeat - took a while to find, but nice and strong once she found it!
Bub's position - she 'thinks' that's a head down there.

So she said I was to go back in a week, so next Monday. Then at 40+5 they will do a stretch and sweep, and talk about inducing 5 days after that. But she said with a spontaneous labour with Charlotte, the strong BH and cervix pain, it probably won't come to that.

I think I can safely say, bub will be here by - at the latest - the 28th! Oh my goodness!!

Can relax a little now...

I said this last night - but we got even more done today! LOL. There are a few things I have been putting off and putting off - annoying jobs, so I got those done today. I made the second pram liner (for the Phil & Teds - had made the main seat liner, but needed a toddler seat liner aswell). I made the curtains for the second window in Charlotte's room - again, had only done one window, so thought it was about time I did the second! Also the toilet had been leaking out the overflow and we had a bucket sitting under it for weeks LOL So fixed that today. Ray cleaned more windows and amused Charlotte to keep her out of my way - there's nothing worse than a cranky frustrated pregnant woman sewing LOL.

Just thought I would add this pic - my hospital bags - packed and ready:

So as I said in the title, I can relax a little now. I have a week to wait until Mum and Dad come up. I have a few things to do - stock up on a few more groceries, return some things to the shops, buy a few other things for the house - nothing too serious or urgent.

Oh and we kinda discussed baby names - but it's such a huge decision! We have a rough idea of what we like - but should narrow it down!

Have another 'waste of time' hospital appointment in the morning. Ray is coming, then going to work around lunch time.

*Almost* ready!

Got even more done today around the house! Ray spent most of the day doing housework - vacuuming, cleaning windows, cleaning floors, cleaning bathroom etc etc. I got the jif onto the kitchen and shined up the stainless steel appliances etc, scrubbed Charlotte's high chair, washing, stacks of ironing and folding. I said to Ray, "all we need to do now, is go and stay in a Motel until the baby arrives, then we can come home to a clean house" LOL The house already looks untidy again, thanks to Charlotte!

So - what's happening in the next couple of weeks?

Monday 5th - we are going to discuss baby names, and I have to 'teach' Ray how to look after Charlotte!
Tuesday 6th - have a Hospital appointment (waste of time!)
Friday 9th - Ray's last day at work!
Sunday 11th - Mother's day awwww
Monday 12th - Mum and Dad are thinking of coming up
Tuesday 13th - waiting all day for news of Susan's (from EB) new arrival! Yay!

Haven't updated on weight for a while (a few days LOL). As of this morning I have gained 3.3kgs. I was getting really worried, as the weight seemed to be coming on awfully quick, but I seem to have plateaued a bit now. Surely I can't gain too much in the next 2 weeks!

Pregnancy complaints - most of my pain is to do with my pelvis. It is so painful - and something as simple as getting out of bed in the morning hurts - I just seem to stiffen up bad. It takes me a minute just to straighten up, then take that first step, then shuffle for a while until I loosen up. Yeeeouch. I just have to keep thinking - I only have to put up with this for another few weeks!

My belly is also very tender - I can't really remember if I felt the same way with Charlotte. If I bend over to pick something up, and stand up again, my belly feels all cramped up. BH are painful too - when DD comes and jumps at me during a BH I just want to scream!

I think bub's head is either engaged, or right down low. Lot of sharp stabbing pain, and alot of pressure on my cervix. Sometimes it feels as though the BH are pushing bub right down on my cervix. Also sometimes if I press down on the top of my belly, I get pressure on my cervix. I have a feeling that when I go into labour, things will happen pretty fast.

It is also quite strange - I don't feel as huge as I was. I felt like I was sticking right out front, but now feel a bit more compact. I just hope that doesn't mean bub is now posterior - do NOT want another posterior labour!

Ok, very tired and just rambling now, so off to bed.

*Bubba, stay put at least until my Mum and Dad come up - you are welcome to arrive any time after that!*

38 Weeks!

Mobiles and cameras are charged and ready to go,
Hospital bags are mostly packed,
Baby's bed is ready,
Charlotte is settled in her big bed,
Freezer is full of home cooked meals,
House is mostly in order...

Bub just has to stay put for at least another 9 days - then Ray will be home, Mum and Dad will be here and everything will be ready... Although mentally I might not be hahahaha.

Hospital bags are packed!

Basically! Just have to wash some new singlets that I bought for bub today, and put those in. Then the last minute things - cameras, mobiles, drinks and snacks.

Actually one of the MOST important things, I haven't done yet! I haven't made sure the cameras are fully charged, or cleared off the memory sticks! Will HAVE to do that tomorrow. Could you imagine if I didn't have my cameras working for the birth! *gasps*

1st May!

It is 1am on the 1st of May. Our bubba is going to arrive THIS month! Eeeeek!

Had another successful day - got heaps done, including cooking up a heap of meatloaf and lasagne to freeze!

And moved Charlotte into her big girl bed - so far so good!

Got about 6+ loads of washing done! Still heaps to go though LOL.

Cleaned up most of our room - as I cleared other rooms, I would move heaps of stuff to our bedroom to be put away, so it looked like a bomb had hit it! Will finish that tomorrow.

Anyway, must go - just wanted to post that it is MAY!!!!!
